If you love The Fast and the Furious level heists, Mr. & Mrs. Smith chemistry, and a romance that doesn’t sacrifice plot for passion, grab The Heist . Sadie Summer has crafted a keeper.
The middle section drags slightly with internal monologue, and one subplot feels underdeveloped. But these are small quibbles in an otherwise gripping read.
Summer excels at pacing. The heist itself is smartly plotted without being overly technical, keeping you on edge without bogging you down in jargon. But the real magic is the romance. The slow-burn tension is intense —late-night stakeouts, close calls, and charged conversations that feel like foreplay. The banter is sharp, the trust issues are real, and the intimate scenes are both steamy and emotionally earned.
The supporting cast adds depth, and the twists genuinely surprised me (no easy feat). The ending balances a satisfying resolution with just enough loose threads to make you hope for a sequel.
