This is the 17th episode of the debut season, originally airing March 8, 2018. It focuses on Sheldon trying to avoid a bully, and his father George teaching him basic self-defense—only for Sheldon to outsmart the situation using his intellect.
Video Quality (1080p): The 1080p presentation is crisp and vibrant. The late-80s/early-90s period aesthetic—warm indoor lighting, patterned sweaters, and Medford, Texas’s earthy outdoor tones—comes through clearly. Textures (like Sheldon’s button-down shirts or the Cooper family’s worn-out couch) are sharp without excessive noise. Night scenes and darker church interiors maintain good contrast, with minimal compression artifacts. For a TV episode, this is an excellent viewing experience, especially on screens 40 inches or smaller; on larger 4K displays, upscaling holds up well.

Sheldon is harassed by an older kid on the school bus. After failing to resolve it through adult intervention (principal, mother Mary), his father steps in with Jiu-Jitsu lessons. Meanwhile, twin sister Missy discovers a creative way to cope with feeling ignored, and older brother Georgie gets a minor subplot about responsibility.
If you’re watching on a streaming service or Blu-ray rip, the 1080p version is recommended . The show’s production values are modest, but the higher bitrate helps with subtle facial expressions (especially Iain Armitage’s micro-reactions) and the period set design. Avoid lower-resolution copies (720p or below) because darker scenes can look muddy.
