Even if the download is only 4–6 GB, you will need approximately 20–25 GB of free disk space during installation. Windows needs room to store the update files, keep the old version for rollback, and perform the installation process. Once the update completes and you run Disk Cleanup to remove the previous installation, most of that temporary space will be reclaimed.
