Briefly note that “2.3000” is not an official version but serves as a symbolic marker for WhatsApp’s transition from a simple messaging app to a globally encrypted communication platform. This paper analyzes technical, security, and user experience changes between ~2015–2016 (when version numbers were in the 2.12.x to 2.16.x range) and projects what a major “2.3000” leap could have represented.
