It’s the proprietary diagnostic tool used to communicate with the vehicle’s ECU via Premium Tech Tool (PTT) or Volvo Tech Tool (VTT) . But without the correct VOCOM driver , your computer won’t recognize the interface — making the entire system useless.

If your VOCOM worked before and suddenly stopped → roll back FTDI driver to version 2.10.00. If it’s new → install FTDI driver manually, never via Windows auto-update. Need specific driver files?
