Log into your Facebook account. Step 2: Click your Profile Picture in the top right corner (or the down arrow on older versions). Step 3: Select Settings & Privacy , then click Settings . Step 4: On the left-hand sidebar, look for Blocking (sometimes labeled "Audience and Visibility" > "Blocking" depending on the UI update). Step 5: You will see a section titled "Block users." Below that is a list of everyone you have ever blocked. Step 6: Find the person you want to unblock. Next to their name, click the blue link that says Unblock . Step 7: A pop-up will ask, "Are you sure you want to unblock [Name]?" Click Confirm .

If you cannot find the "Blocking" menu, use the search bar inside Settings. Type "Block" and it will appear instantly. Part 4: The Critical "What Happens Next" Rules This is where most users get confused. You unblocked them. Now what? Rule #1: They Are Not Your Friend Again When you block someone, Facebook severs the friendship link. When you unblock them, Facebook does not automatically re-add them as a friend. You have to send a new friend request (or they have to send one to you). Rule #2: The "Wait 48 Hours" Trap Here is the most frustrating glitch in the system. If you block someone, unblock them, and then immediately try to add them as a friend, Facebook will often give you an error message saying "Action Blocked" or "Friend request cannot be sent." Facebook does send a notification that says, "Hey, [Name] has unblocked you!"
