Jenn and DS Med Kharim track Col Farley to a seafront fish and chip shop (his nickname is ironic – he hates fish). Col admits Leah was behind on payments but swears he didn't harm her. He says someone else was following her – a man in a grey BMW.

CCTV from the arcade shows Leah getting into a grey BMW the night she disappeared. Using traffic cameras, the team traces the car to a farm outside Grange-over-Sands. The farm owner is Marcus Slater , a former foster carer. Leah lived with him briefly three years ago. the bay s05e03 360p

Marcus is arrested while trying to flee across the sands. In the back of the police car, he looks at Jenn and says: "You think you're saving them? You can't even save your own daughter." (Jenn has no daughter – he's clearly confusing her with someone else... or is he?) Jenn and DS Med Kharim track Col Farley

Meanwhile, Jenn's own family drama escalates. Her son, Conor, is caught shoplifting again, and her ex-husband, Andy, uses it to threaten custody. But the bigger shock: Jenn's father, Billy Townsend , shows up unannounced at her house. He's been out of prison for six months (she didn't know he was released). He asks for money, and when she refuses, he storms off.

The victim is identified as Leah Sumner , a 22-year-old care leaver who worked at a local arcade and lived in a hostel. Jenn visits the hostel and finds her room ransacked. The manager admits that Leah owed money to a loan shark named Col "The Fish" Farley .

The episode ends with Jenn getting a call from the hostel. A young woman has just checked in using a fake name: "Erin Townsend" – Jenn's estranged daughter, whom she gave up for adoption 17 years ago and never told anyone about, not even her current family.
