This isn’t a fun episode. It’s a devastating, beautiful, and necessary one. Superman & Lois has always been a family drama first and a superhero show second. S04E01 doubles down on that, breaking its hero so that rebuilding him matters. If the rest of the final season holds this quality, we’re in for an all-time great superhero farewell.
