Thunder. Not from the sky — from the ground . A second EnerGen cell, buried beneath the high school football field, is overloading. In 22 minutes, it will emit an electromagnetic pulse powerful enough to wipe every electronic device in a 50-mile radius.

The visuals intercut: Clark holding the cell together with his bare hands, veins glowing red with effort. Lois, in the rain, holding a boombox over her head like John Cusack but with the fate of a woman's soul in the signal.

The climax happens in silence.

The wave hits.

A woman. Flickering. Made of sound and memory.

Lois closes her eyes. "Sometimes the loudest voices don't use volume, Clark. They use channels ."

Then Mira screams — and the scream becomes a frequency shield, pushing the EMP back into the cell, collapsing it safely underground.
