1. Overview & Location The Greene Building is a key academic facility on the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute campus, located at 169 8th Street, Troy, NY 12180 . The building serves primarily as the headquarters for RPI’s , one of the oldest and most respected architecture programs in the United States. It is named in honor of Greene Family , significant benefactors to RPI. 2. History & Renovation Originally constructed in the mid-20th century as an engineering research building, the structure underwent a complete, transformative renovation completed in 2009 . The $30 million project was designed by the renowned architectural firm EskewDumezRipple (formerly Eskew+Dumez+Ripple) in collaboration with RPI faculty and administration.
