It won't beat a Pixel 6, but for a sub-$150 phone, GCam is the single best free upgrade you can install.
Keep the stock camera installed for video recording (which works better on Oppo) and use GCam exclusively for photos, especially Night Sight. Your Instagram feed will thank you.

When the Oppo A16 launched, it was clear that Oppo was playing the numbers game. With a massive 5000mAh battery and a 6.52-inch screen, it was designed for endurance, not photography. The stock camera setup—a 13MP primary sensor flanked by two 2MP macro and depth sensors—is serviceable in perfect daylight but quickly falls apart in low light, dynamic range, and color accuracy.
