(1) Except as provided in Article 9.7.1.3, glass in the following locations shall be safety glass or safety glazing:

(c) glazing that is within 450 mm of the finished floor level and has an area greater than 0.5 m². This is a key safety requirement to prevent injury from broken glass in areas where impact is likely.
