Abstract: Malaysia’s climate is dominated by two primary monsoon systems: the Southwest Monsoon and the Northeast Monsoon. These seasonal wind reversals dictate rainfall patterns, flood risks, agricultural cycles, and socio-economic activities. This paper examines the meteorological mechanisms of each monsoon, their regional impacts on East and Peninsular Malaysia, and the adaptation strategies employed by government agencies and communities.
