Jive was quirky. It had "spaces," "polls," and a "like" button before that became the universal currency of validation. For a brief, shining moment between 2008 and 2015, Fortune 500 companies migrated their intranets to Jive. Consultants flew first class to implement "gamification strategies" on Jive. It was the sound of the future.
And then, the music stopped. By 2017, the agile upstarts had eaten Jive’s lunch. Slack was faster. Confluence was better for docs. Jive, once a sleek jazz club, began to feel like a dusty ballroom.
