XISO is not the same as a standard ISO. A standard ISO contains a file system (usually UDF or ISO9660). An XISO contains a raw Xbox file system (Xbox FATX) and includes a special "default.xbe" executable header. If you try to burn a standard ISO to a DVD for an original Xbox, it will not boot.
