Yet, despite (or because of) that scarcity, Ninja Kasumi achieves something most modern martial arts epics fail at: The Plot (What There Is Of It) Kasumi is a rogue kunoichi (female ninja) who has abandoned her clan to live in hiding. When a Yakuza boss hires a rival ninja to wipe out her adopted family, she breaks her vow of peace. The plot is a single sentence. There is no twist. There is no romance subplot.
