Sprinkle 1 cup of baking soda directly down the drain. Try to get it past the drain cover.

Slowly pour 1 cup of white vinegar down the drain. Immediately cover the drain with a sink stopper or a damp cloth to trap the fizzing reaction inside the pipe.

Leave for 15–30 minutes. You’ll hear fizzing and bubbling – that’s the blockage breaking down.

Boil a full kettle of water (about 2 liters). Remove the stopper and carefully pour the boiling water down the drain. This flushes away the loosened debris.
