Had a blocked drain issue on our street in Badsworth last week. Called a local plumber who came out within a couple of hours, which was great. He used a high-pressure jet to clear the blockage – seemed efficient. However, the final bill was higher than quoted (£180 vs £120). Also, there was no clear explanation of what caused the blockage (tree roots? grease?). Fine for an emergency fix, but I’d ask for a fixed price upfront next time.
