The film is structured as a story within a story: A kind grandfather (Peter Falk) reads a classic fantasy book to his reluctant, video-game-obsessed grandson (Fred Savage). Heartbroken, Buttercup agrees to marry the scheming Prince Humperdinck (Chris Sarandon).
